There’s good and bad news for Hull City after the club were credited with interest in Sporting fullback Marvin Zeegelaar.

The good news is that, according to Portuguese newspaper A Bola today, the Lions will accept a sale. The player couldn’t repeat the good form he had in his first season and now Sporting are happy to negotiate a sale.

The bad news is that the price has gone up. Even though Norwich City were said to have found an agreement with Sporting for a fee of €3.75m in January, the outlet claims the club is now demanding €7m for the transfer.

It’s said that after Hull City told Sporting they want him, the Portuguese side are now just waiting for the interest to be made formal so things can advance. The intention to sell is pretty clear.

But the Tigers should also work on convincing the player, because he’s already rejected a move to the Championship before. As for the price, Hull would surely be naive to agree to pay almost twice what Sporting accepted in January.
