On Sunday, Marca reported Real Betis have made progress in their efforts to sign Leeds United’s Diego Llorente. It was also stated the Whites would collect around €4m from his sale this summer.
Monday’s edition of Mundo Deportivo provides a short update on the 30-year-old, and their title says the deal to take him to the La Liga side is ‘almost done’.
Within the report, it’s claimed the Spanish club have ‘practically finalised’ an agreement with Leeds to sign the defender for €3m.
Mundo say the transfer is expected to go through ‘very soon’ once the parties sort out the last details of the operation, without providing further information of what those details are.
Real Betis have presented two different proposals for Llorente, but neither convinced the Whites. They have returned with the third offer of around €3m and this has been accepted by Daniel Farke’s side.
The former Real Sociedad man, who spent the last 18 months on loan at AS Roma, is keen to return to La Liga. Marca claim the player will sign a deal until 2028 at Real Betis.
Earlier claims stated Llorente’s asking price was around €4.5m. Marca on Sunday said the fee will be around €4m, but their latest report and Mundo are both claiming the final price will be €3m.
