Leeds United co-owner Massimo Cellino is closing in on purchasing a majority stake in Serie B side Brescia. Cellino has been linked with a return to Italy in recent months, along with selling his 50% share in Leeds United.
It’s been reported Cellino could pay up to €10m to buy into Brescia, but the funding will be helped once the Italian sells his remaining shares in Leeds United. There have been recent reports Cellino is close to selling his 50% stake in the Championship side to fellow Leeds United co-owner Andrea Radrizzani.
Cellino purchased Leeds United in 2014, and his reign at the club has been somewhat controversial. The Italian has already been hit with two FA bans since his arrival in England, which could subsequently lead to Cellino selling his remaining shares in the Championship side.
