Highly rated last season after a good campaign with Montpellier, Bryan Cabo’s stock in Ligue 1 has taken a bit of a plunge this time around.
Deciding to postpone moving to the Premier League a bit longer, with Everton and Swansea both reportedly interested, the 25-year-old midfielder chose to move to Saint-Etienne instead, where he got a chance to play European football.
Unhappy at being pushed to one side, it appears the midfielder now wants to look elsewhere, according to But! Football Club.
The French website explain the Everton and Swansea target ‘isn’t happy’ with his current situation and wants a transfer in the summer, even with Galtier due to leave at the end of the season.
This is, of course, good news for Premier League clubs who were interested in him, even if Ronald Koeman probably isn’t all that keen anymore, having picked up Idrissa Gueye from Aston Villa last summer, who plays a similar role.
Swansea, on the other hand, could very much return, especially if Saint-Etienne, who pushed him to their reserves last month, want to cash in quickly on a player they only spent £3.4m on in the first place.
Dabo himself admitted late last year he chose Saint-Etienne over the Premier League, telling France Football, relayed by Le10 Sport: “Montpellier could have blocked me and asked more money from British clubs or Marseille, but they respected my choice.”
