On April 30th, Tuttosport reported Aston Villa had a scout follow Matias Soulé while in action for Frosinone.
Earlier this month, TuttoMercatoWeb stated Aston Villa director Monchi has decided not to retain Nicolò Zaniolo [on loan from Galatasaray] and has set his sights on Soulé, who was on loan at Frosinone from Juventus.
The winger scored 11 goals and registered three assists from 39 games for Frosinone and his form caught the attention of Aston Villa and others, according to Il Bianconero.
Calciomercato also state the Giallorossi are said to be in the mix for the Argentina U21 international. They add there are ‘sirens from England’, and of all the clubs there, Roma have to ‘beware of Aston Villa’ in the race to sign Soulé.
It’s suggested the South American could replace Zaniolo, who won’t continue at Villa Park.
Juve are set to appoint Thiago Motta as Massimiliano Allegri’s successor and Corriere dello Sport, relayed by Calciomercato, say he has informed technical director Cristiano Giuntoli of his wish to have Soulé at his disposal next season.
That will depend on the offers that arrive.
