Manchester City have an open chance of signing Theo Hernandez from Atletico Madrid this summer, and that’s according to the player’s agent.
Spending the season on loan at Alaves from Atletico Madrid, Theo has been greatly impressing, and Manchester City interest makes sense given he’s a left back.
Pep Guardiola needs to improve his options at fullback during the summer transfer window, and Theo is a reasonable target.
The 19 year old has a buyout clause of just over £20m, which makes him sign-able, but that’s also attracted the interest of Real Madrid and Barcelona.
Despite some Spanish claims it’s a fight between those two for Theo, the player’s agent has made clear it’s not.
Quoted by Mundo Deportivo, who named Manchester City as an interested club, Manuel Garcia Quilon explained: “Right now he’s not close to either of the two teams, although the two are very interested, but nothing is closed for now.”
Manchester City still very much have a window of opportunity, but may need to work quickly before it slams shut.
