Liverpool’s hopes of signing Theo Hernandez aren’t over, something which has been made clear by the player’s agent.

With various sport media in Spain, depending on their particular bias, claiming Theo prefers Real Madrid or Barcelona, thereby ruling Liverpool out, the Alaves loan player’s agent has ruled out a decision already being made.

Manuel Garcia Quilon, who represents the Atletico Madrid owned left back, is quoted by Catalan newspaper Mundo Deportivo as saying: “Right now he’s not close to either of the two teams, although the two are very interested, but nothing is closed for now.”

Mundo Deportivo once again name Liverpool as one of the most interested clubs, and this is something which has been reported repeatedly in Spain for a while.

With the French defender having a clause of just over £20m, the widespread interest is understandable. Theo would certainly mean an increase in quality for Liverpool’s squad, and the player’s theomundoability to also play on the left wing and in central defence is a further bonus.

The competition still remains strong for Jurgen Klopp to secure his target, but all hope isn’t yet lost for Liverpool.
