Lille youngster Leny Yoro has learned his lessons from the first-leg clash with Aston Villa and is ready for ‘revenge’ against Ollie Watkins.
That’s according to manager Paulo Fonseca, who has backed the highly rated youngster to bounce back in the second leg meeting between the two sides this week.
Aston Villa travel to France to take on Lille in the second leg of their Europa Conference League quarter-final clash this week following their 2-1 victory six days ago.
Watkins opener had seen him take advantage of a mistake from Yoro, who the Aston Villa player had been in a personal battle with from minute one and largely gotten the better of.
It was a chastening moment for the youngster, who has been widely and loudly praised for his performances throughout this season and is being actively tracked by all of the big clubs in Europe as a result.
And Fonseca is confident he’s learned from that mistake ahead of the next clash with Aston Villa this week.
“It’s age. He is still only 18 years old,” he said.
“We saw him, and he sometimes showed inexperience in contacts, in duels, but he will still improve. He can take advantage of these kinds of matches to progress.
“I think he analysed the match well and he knows what he needs to do to improve.”
