There’s worry in Argentina over Marcos Rojo, after a brief spell of optimism led to thoughts the Manchester United defender could escape surgery.
The decision to operate, rather than try and let the injury heal through rest, has been taken to ensure the best long term outcome, looking after later in Rojo’s career.
That’s not great for Jose Mourinho and Manchester United now, and it’s not expected Rojo will return until ‘early 2018’. Both Clarin and Ole saw Rojo’s aim is now to return and be 
fully fit and able in time for the 2018 World Cup.
Argentina will have to qualify for the tournament first, but Rojo’s lay-off is set to be so long that it’s the World Cup which is his big dream and aim from now on. First, he’ll have to return for Manchester United.
