Tottenham Hotspur’s Dejan Kulusevski believes Sweden had a good start under new manager Jon Dahl Tomasson, and his comments are relayed by VK.
Jon Dahl Tomasson was appointed as Janne Andersson’s successor last month, and the Dane started his spell with the national team with a 5-2 loss to Portugal.
Sweden bounced back with a 1-0 win over Albania on Monday, and the Tottenham player assisted Gustaf Nilsson’s winner in the 62nd minute
After the tie, the 23-year-old spoke to the local media to share his view on the new coach, and has also urged Sweden’s supporters to have patience with the former Blackburn Rovers manager.
“I like his energy, I like him as a coach. I see the game idea. All good things have a beginning and it will take time when something good is created. There are great players, so it’s a good start,” he said.
This seems to have worked for Sweden but the winger has urged his compatriots to work harder and help each other to achieve their desired results.
“We haven’t been good enough. We haven’t protected each other enough. We haven’t helped each other and played as a family. We may have done it with words but not with actions,” Kulusevski explained.
“When we have lost the ball, not everyone has worked hard to win it back. We did that better against Albania.”
Kulusevski will return to Tottenham and his immediate focus will be on their league clash against Luton Town on Saturday.
