Defender Patrick van Aanholt has hailed Crystal Palace as a club, insisting he loved his time at Selhurst Park.
The left-back has been speaking to Eindhovens Dagblad, relayed by PSV Fans, regarding his former clubs and playing experiences to date.
The full back is currently at PSV after returning to his former club on loan from Galatasaray in the January transfer window.
It’s a case of full circle for the defender, who was a part of PSV’s U17 set up before joining Chelsea in a €300,000 deal in July 2007.
From there he went on to enjoy spells at various clubs in England, including Crystal Palace, who he joined in a €10.5m deal from Sunderland in January 2017.
He left on a free transfer in July 2021 but seemingly still looks back at his time with pleasure, insisting the Eagles are a real family club.
“Of course, everyone had an opinion, that’s how it goes in this world. As if you get such an opportunity so often, to play for Chelsea,” he said.
“I had a great period after that, especially at Crystal Palace. A real family club, where I already knew many players when I arrived.
“Will I ever make a move abroad again? Maybe I will stay at PSV longer. If the club is satisfied at the end of this season and I feel happy, I would like to stay.
“My eldest children will be 10 and eight this year, the youngest four. They have already lived in so many places. It is also nice for them to be home and see family they have not seen for a long time.
“That doesn’t mean that we didn’t have a good time elsewhere, because Turkey, for example, was fantastic. Now that we are in the Netherlands, everything no longer has to be fast, fast, fast.”
