On Thursday, it was revealed in the French media that Stade de Rennes had made an offer for Tottenham’s Davinson Sánchez.
The centre-back is no longer a wanted player at Spurs, and an exit would be favourable for all involved, especially for the Colombian, who has only featured once as a substitute against Brentford under Ange Postecoglou.
That’s why a move elsewhere, like Rennes, could be great for him, and L’Equipe are reporting that the Ligue 1 side are pushing for a transfer on deadline day.
They have put €12m on the table to try and convince Daniel Levy, and while the Tottenham chairman wanted €20m for him a few days ago, that no longer appears to be the case.
‘Constructive exchanges’ between the two sides have helped, and the fact the player ‘wants to sign’ for Rennes goes a long way too.
It’s added that he could ‘travel to France’ as soon as an agreement is found, and would be ready to sign a five-year contract with the Brittany based side if and when he does.
