Heavily linked with an exit from Wolverhampton Wanderers, Raul Jimenez is still not sure he’ll be playing somewhere else next season.
That was revealed in an interview the striker had with Mexican journalist Antonio de Valdes.
As relayed by Kery News on Twitter, Jimenez is aware that he may have already played his last match for Wolves.
“It could have been my last game there. As it may not, because I still have a year left on my contract. There can be the desire to continue because people appreciate you and know everything you have given for the team.”
In more quotes brought by Football Transfers, the striker claimed this is not the time to talk about a potential return to his former club America.
“Later, if I see myself returning to America. If I return, I want to compete and not just on vacation. If I see myself there again, if everything comes together.”
And despite acknowledging he could change clubs this summer, he admits that it’s possible he could continue at Wolves.
“Whether it’s staying at Wolves, I’m happy, I want to show that I can continue doing it in the best league in the world.”
Raul Jimenez obviously doesn’t have the same importance for Wolves he once had. This season, he only made 20 appearances for the club, with three goals and one assist.
In a recent interview with the Mexican media, the striker detailed the injury struggles he carried during the season, claiming the club didn’t allow him to have surgery at the time he wanted to. That’s why he ended up taking injections to postpone the operation.
