On Tuesday, Mucho Deportivo reported Real Betis are looking to include a purchase option in any deal for Leeds United’s Marc Roca in the summer.
This is backed up by today’s ABC Sevilla, who add the midfielder is one of the priority targets for the La Liga side.
Manuel Pellegrini’s side want to take advantage of Leeds’ relegation from the top flight to secure the 26-year-old’s services.
The ‘operation advances decisively’, and in the ‘last few hours’, his agent has made a trip to Seville, to ‘define an agreement’ between the parties. Roca is ‘convinced’ Betis are a ‘good option for his future’.
The Spanish club are ‘rushing’ for a loan deal with a purchase option that’s viable for them from an economic point of view.
With Roca’s agent already in Sevilla to define an agreement with Betis, it’s down to the latter to find an agreement with the Whites to conclude the deal.
Leeds are in the process of changing owners and are also without a sporting director. This, as per the report, makes an operation for the Spain international ‘more difficult than expected’.
ABC Sevilla believe Leeds are expected to give the green light for the operation because they have to reshape their squad after dropping to the Championship.
They end the report by stating: ‘Now a good opportunity opens up to incorporate the Catalan, whose agents advanced the details in Seville with the Verdiblanca in order to expedite an operation that has the good understanding of all those involved.’
