Gerard Deulofeu had an immediate impact at AC Milan following his loan move from Everton. Milan had been trying to structure a deal for the Spaniard for much of the winter transfer window, and it always looked likely that a solution could be found.
Deulofeu was to be Milan’s hero, sign permanently from Everton in the summer, and the good times would be back at the Serie A club. Things haven’t exactly carried on at that level, and whilst Deulofeu hasn’t been poor he’s not lived up to the unrealistic hype attached to him.
Milan manager Vincenzo Montella was asked to comment on the player in his latest press conference, and is quoted by Calciomercato as saying: “For the principles of the game he is very close to our ideas. There is much sacrifice, must improve the build-up phase, he has to score some more goals.”
Deulofeu has found the back of the net once in 8 games for Milan, last season for Everton he scored 2 Premier League goals, but also weighed in with 8 league assists.
