Arsenal may have some pretty heavy competition in case they try to sign Massimiliano Allegri as their new manager in the next summer.

According to Calciomercato this Friday, the Gunners’ board is in frequent contact with the Italian manager’s entourage, as the club keep preparing for the possibility of seeing Arsene Wenger leaving at the end of the season.

But besides having their North London rivals Tottenham also with an eye on the manager in case they lose Maurício Pochettino this summer, it seems that Barcelona have joined this battle too.

Especially after the 4-0 defeat to PSG in the Champions League, the Catalan club aren’t all that happy with Luis Enrique, so they would be considering the Juventus boss as well. The first contacts have already been made, the website says.

Allegri’s departure from Juventus has been reported for a few weeks now. It’s said that it’s just the end of a cycle, as the manager’s results in the past few seasons have been quite satisfactory on a league level.
