Catalan newspaper Mundo Deportivo have an article in their Sunday edition which states Barcelona can make a quick profit on Gerard Deulofeu in the summer. Everton loaned the 22 year old out to AC Milan during the January transfer window, and the Italian club are already considering ways to make the move permanent.
Mundo Deportivo state it could present a chance for Barcelona to make a quick profit, rather than Everton. The newspaper says Barcelona could buy Deulofeu back for €8.5m and then immediately sell him on for a higher figure.
“If they take him back they can’t sell him for a season, so he has to stay in the first-team squad for a season. At the end of that if they decide to sell him we have got first rights of getting him back or we have got a big percentage of that deal.”
The former Everton manager made things pretty clear. If Barcelona want to buy Deulofeu back from Everton in the summer then he’ll cost them €12m, and they can’t sell him for a season.
That all transfers the power to Everton, with Barcelona getting a small percentage of any transfer fee. Should Ronald Koeman choose to sell Deulofeu permanently then it’s very unlikely Barcelona will do anything about it, same if Koeman decides to keep him at Everton.
