Alexandre Lacazette is one of those players who is destined to be linked with Arsenal until he retires, perhaps even afterwards. For several years it’s been claimed Arsene Wenger has a strong interest in the Lyon striker and will look to add him to his Arsenal squad.

Lacazette has this weekend encouraged rumours of a Lyon exit, telling Canal (via L’Equipe) that he’s looking towards a possible exit during the next transfer window: “I think that this summer will be the moment when I will change air and discover something else, always with the idea to move forward and progress in football and life.”

That’s pretty clear.

The 25 year old has scored 20 goals so far this season, goalscoring form which should do much to attract the likes of Arsenal and others.

But with Alexis Sanchez providing goals upfront for Wenger, and Olivier Giroud an able Plan B, it would be a big call to add Lacazette as well, with Lucas Perez also providing back-up and Danny Welbeck fit at the moment.

Lacazette would likely jump at the chance of an Arsenal move, and L’Equipe say the club were one of several to open ‘discussions’ to sign him last summer.
