Michał Karbownik signed for Brighton & Hove Albion in October 2020, moving from Legia Warsaw, where he’d come through the youth system.

The 21-year-old hasn’t been able to have any impact yet with the Seagulls, and is currently on his third loan away from the Premier League club.

He first went back to Legia Warsaw, before going to Olympiacos, and is now at Fortuna Dusseldorf. The current loan is proving to be the best so far for the Brighton owned player.

Fighting his way into the team, Karbownik has made nine appearances and contributed four assists in the process. That’s a good return for the youngster, who operates at left-back, and it’s clear he’s appreciated at the 2Bundesliga club.

Brighton have the player on a contract lasting until June 2024, so hold power over his future. Fortuna would like to keep him around, something which is starting to become clear.

FussballTransfers quote Klaus Allofs, head of sport at the German club, as saying: “We’ll see at the very end, who knows where we’ll be in the table. We should now be glad that he is with us and that he is helping us. We hope that he continues to play like this.”
