Udinese defender Rodrigo Becao is yet to sign a new deal at the club, because of the interest shown in him by the likes of Everton in the summer.

That’s according to Messaggero Veneto, who say that there is growing concern about the failure to get the defender signed to an extended contract.

Becao’s current contract with the Italian side expires in 2024, meaning they will be forced to sell next summer if he doesn’t sign an extension.

They’re keen to get him to do so but after a summer spent at the window, ‘listening to rumours of interest’ from teams such as Inter Milan and Everton, the Brazilian has ambition to move on.

Thus, he has not given the go-ahead for any new deal, not even a one-year extension to give Udinese piece of mind and consolidate their position next summer.

President Gino Pozzo wants at least €20m for his man but that may be a hard figure to obtain for a player in the final year of his deal.

His hope is that intermediary Luciano Ramalho can work something out with the player that suits all parties, but at the moment that hasn’t happened.

Instead, Becao is remaining firm in his stance not to sign anything and potentially enter the summer window in his final year, something that may interest his suitors from this year, Everton chief among them.
