Having previously targeted Jamal Lewis to potentially bolster the left-hand side of their defence, OGC Nice stayed in England for their search and have turned their attention to Joe Bryan.
The Fulham defender, who could see any chance of him playing further hurt by the arrival of Layvin Kurzawa, is the latest option to be considered by the Ligue 1 side late in the transfer window.
The news comes from Foot Mercato, who explain the French club are ‘on the trail’ of the Craven Cottage man, who has yet to make an appearance under Marco Silva in the Premier League.
They claim the club are ‘accelerating’ proceedings and he could therefore ‘soon arrive’ in the south of France.
Foot Mercato also hint this deal could also be why Fulham have been pushing to get the arrival of Kurzawa sorted.
The 28-year-old arrived at Craven Cottage from Bristol City back in 2018 for a fee of £6m, although it remains to be seen how much of that amount the club will make back.
His deal with Fulham is set to end in 2023, even if Silva’s side have an option to extend it by an extra year.
