Southampton are in the race to sign Udinese defender Molla Wauge, according to claims in the Italian media. The Mali international has also been linked with fellow Premier League side Crystal Palace.
Southampton manager Claude Puel will be aware of the player after Wague started his career at French club Caen before joining Granada.
However, Crystal Palace are also showing an interest in Wague as they look to bolster their defence either in this window or the summer. Crystal Palace boss Sam Allardyce will want to address his side’s issues at the back after leaking goals.
Wague came through the Caen youth system before going on to make nearly 50 league appearances for the French side. The central defender signed for Granada in 2014, but was immediately loaned out to Udinese, where he’s been ever since.
Wague has racked up 20 caps for Mali since making his debut in 2013.
