Paul Pogba’s Manchester United contract expires at the end of the current season, and as such he’ll be able to leave the Premier League club as a free agent. The second time he’ll have done so.
The chance of a renewal hasn’t been completely ruled out, perhaps partly because there’s not a lot of clubs who both want the midfielder and would be able to satisfy his financial demands and those of his agent Mino Raiola.
Calciomercato have spoken to ‘Coach Maddy’, who they say is the France international’s personal trainer. Maddy is pictured with the player, and it’s stated he also works with the likes of Pjanic, Dzeko, Aouar, Neymar, Semedo, and Bennacer.
When asked ‘Have you heard from Pogba recently? How are you experiencing this period in Manchester?’, Maddy replied: “Regarding Pogba, at the end of June he will no longer be a Manchester United player. I think it is right for him to look elsewhere, perhaps Manchester also wants to renew themselves and the most sensible thing is to separate.
The interview continues on Il Bianconero, where the physical trainer is asked if a return to Juventus is a possibility for Pogba this summer, to which he replies: “Yes yes. Paul can return to Juve, he has good relations with the Bianconeri but he could also be at PSG. I think PSG needs a midfielder like him and he could go and play in France. At Real Madrid I would exclude him because there is no longer Zidane, he would have gone only in that case. Juve or PSG at the moment, but you never know what can happen, we’ll see.”
Quite how much Maddy really knows about the Manchester United player and his possible future steps is unclear, but he’s clearly being presented as someone in-the-know about the current situation.
