Galatasaray showed interested in signing Mohamed Elneny in the summer, but were not successful in their efforts to take him away from Arsenal.
The midfielder has lost prominence at the north London club. He’s made just one appearance since the end of August, which came in the Gunners’ EFL Cup win over Leeds United on Tuesday.
His current deal expires at the end of this season. The duration left on the 29-year-old’s contract and also his situation at the Emirates has caught the Turkish club’s attention.
Galatasaray manager Faith Terim wants his side to strengthen midfield in the winter market and the Egypt international’s name is on top of his wish-list.
That’s according to Sporx, who add there is a ‘high possibility’ for Elneny’s transfer to take place in January.
It’s even claimed the former Basel man has an ‘agreement in principle’ with the Süper Lig side. Galatasaray will soon start talks with the player about the details of the contract.
In addition to this, Terim’s side are planning to hold talks with Arsenal to ‘discuss the details of the transfer fee’. Sporx say it’s ‘highly likely’ Elneny will end up at Galatasaray in the next window.
