On August 19th, Gol24 in Poland reported Legia Warsaw defender Josip Juranović is set to fly to Glasgow on Friday to undergo a medical and seal a switch to Celtic.
These claims are backed up by Meczyki, who say the two clubs reached an agreement for €3m and the right-back is expected to sign a four-year contract with the Hoops.
It’s claimed the Croatia international only has the medical tests to clear before completing a move to Celtic and that now ‘seems to be just a formality’.
With Celtic wanting to sign the player, there was confusion over whether the 26-year-old would represent Legia in the Europa League play-off against SK Slavia Praha on Thursday.
The tie ended in a 1-1 draw and Juranović not only played, but also got his name on the scoresheet.
“I do not want to comment on the financial conditions for transfers, because I simply do not know them. At the end you have to sign it [documents], then the transfer will be completed,” Michniewicz was quoted as saying by Legia.net.
“Various things are happening. As far as I know, the documents have not yet been signed, as Josip Juranović told me before the game. But I think nothing unpredictable will happen here.
“Jura said goodbye on the pitch, said goodbye in the dressing room, the team said goodbye. We are prepared that he will not be here.”
