Wolverhampton Wanderers are in talks to sign Ruben Semedo, according to claims from the Portuguese media.
Mais Futebol says the Premier League side are currently ‘solving final details and bureaucratic issues’ before closing a deal for the 27-year-old.
It’s claimed that Wolves and Olympiacos should reach an agreement for between €10m and €12m, even though the defender is valued at €15m.
According to Mais Futebol, Semedo is now represented by Gestifute, and has recently shown his desire to leave the Greek side this summer, especially after they failed to qualify for the Champions League group stage.
Ruben Semedo started his career at Sporting, and when showing his potential at the Lisbon side, he was linked to several English clubs.
The defender ended up moving to Villarreal in a €14m deal in 2014, and couldn’t really show a lot at the La Liga side, as in his first year in Spain, he was arrested and ended up in prison for five months.
Since then, Semedo was loaned to the likes of Huesca and Rio Ave, and was finally sold to Olympiacos in a €4.5m deal in 2019. Now it looks like he could have another chance to prove himself in the Premier League.
