Celtic have seen a first offer for Legia Warsaw defender Josip Juranovic rejected but intend to return with another bid.

That’s according to WP SportoweFakty, who say reports in the United Kingdom about an imminent move may be slightly wide of the mark.

Celtic have been heavily linked with the right-back over the last few weeks, and recent reports have indicated that a deal was close.

However, the story is different in Poland, where WP SportoweFakty say Celtic have only seen a first bid rejected at this point.

According to their information, they have turned their attention to Juranovic after they gave up their pursuit of Celtic’s Yan Couto when he made it clear he wasn’t interested in the switch.

Juranovic, therefore, jumped to the top of their list and ‘talks have accelarated’ to make a deal happen.

Reports in Scotland say a £2m offer has been submitted, and WP SportoweFakty confirm that is the case, although they state it is actually ‘slightly higher’ than that amount.

That offer was ‘rejected’, however, as Legia want more for Juranovic if they are to sell him this summer.

At this moment in time, it’s ‘not entirely clear exactly how much’, but it’s made clear that the rejection does not mean a move won’t happen.

On the contrary, ‘talks continue’ between Celtic and Legia, and the latter are expecting a second offer ‘can soon be expected’.
