Bayern Munich’s Philipp Lahm is relaxed about Monday’s Champions League draw, and not overly worried about which club the German champions will face.
That’s not because Lahm believes beating Claudio Ranieri’s men would be a breeze, but because he’s never faced Leicester or Monaco in the competition, and so fancies a change.
Leicester have a very good chance of getting a hard draw for the next round. Ranieri’s side can draw Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Benfica, PSG, Sevilla or Bayer Leverkusen.
Having negotiated the group stage well, if we ignore the battering against FC Porto, Leicester will likely see anything from here on in as a bonus.
Jamie Vardy springing into form at the weekend is a boost for Leicester, and they’ll need the Englishman to remain that way if they’re to stand a chance in the next Champions League round.
