For the past couple of days, reports from England and Peru have been claiming that Arsenal are interested in the signing of Cantolao defender Aron Sanchez.
It’s first been said that the Gunners want to sign the player, and then backed up by South American outlets that the 18-year-old would have a chance to train with the Premier League side.
It turns out that a few local outlets are still gathering information about it.
One of them is Ovacion, one of the biggest sports website in Peru, who managed to speak to people from Cantolao regarding this move.
“There is definitely something concrete because the invitation is not only for him to go through a test but for him to do a whole preseason in England. Without a doubt that shows that there is important interest in Aaron Sánchez and at Cantolao we will only wait for the deadlines to be defined.”
“Apparently it’s Arsenal, but we’re going to wait for what the player’s representative to tell us. Aaron is a boy who has been growing by leaps and bounds, he’s very fast, he has a good size, he’s technical and knows a lot with the ball on his feet. He’s only 18 years old and I have no doubt that he will play abroad. He made his debut at 16 and did very well.”
The report points out that despite his young age, Sanchez has been a regular starter for his club. He’s also been included in international lists of most promising players born in 2003.
With the Peruvian media working hard to get more information on this case, we should soon have the confirmation if Arsenal are really going for him.
