Paulo Fonseca still hasn’t been announced as Tottenham’s new manager, which doesn’t come as a great surprise given the Italian media said the move would be made official from around now onwards.
Spurs first announced Fabio Paratici as their new Managing Director for the football side of the business. Since then, the Italian sport media have been in overdrive, insisting certain players are targets for Tottenham, and that Paratici, formerly at Juventus, will be using his contacts to secure them.
One of the latest is Domenico Berardi, who was impressive in Italy’s Euro 2020 opener against Turkey on Friday evening. Quotidiano go with a headline saying: ‘Berardi, oh yes: Paratici calls him to Tottenham’
That performance against Turkey has convinced Tottenham to take ‘concrete steps’ to sign the Sassuolo attacker, aware that interest in the 26-year-old attacker is growing and they could face serious competition.
Therefore, according to the claims, Spurs will move ‘immediately’ after announcing Paulo Fonseca’s arrival. Interestingly, Juventus were repeatedly linked during Paratici’s time at the Turin club.
