Everton have ‘come forward’ for Lille midfielder Boubakary Soumaré but face competition from Aston Villa, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Leicester for his services.
That’s according to FootMercato, who say all three clubs will need to move quickly to beat the Foxes to his signature.
They explain that Soumaré, who has been one of the stars of the show for Lille in their title challenge in Ligue 1 this season, has a number of suitors knocking at the door.
His performances mean that he will be ‘closely involved’ in the summer transfer window, with the Premier League, in particular, keeping a close eye on him.
They’ve increased their interest in recent hours and held positive talks with the French club and the player’s agent, and things are believed to be advancing at a rapid pace.
Indeed, the other three clubs, Everton, Aston Villa and Wolves, are all ‘far behind’ their Premier League counterpart, who have moved quickly to beat the competition.
Nonetheless, the interest from elsewhere is there and there’s every chance they could all follow the Foxes lead and firm up their interest into actual bids and talks sooner rather than later.
