Fenerbahce will target Manchester City’s Spanish winger Jesus Navas, reports Turkey’s Fotomaç.

Fenerbahce are enjoying a great period of form at the moment and the Turkish club have won their last 7 games in all competitions, and they’re well and truly back at title race.

Manager Dick Advocaat has given the club’s board the green light to invite Navas’ representative to Istanbul to discuss the details of a possible transfer from Manchester City.

The former Sevilla man will be out of the contract at the summer and considering financial uncertainty Fenerbahce are in, signing Navas on a free would be very good business for the Turkish club.

Navas, 31 years of age, has won the Premier League and League Cup with Manchester City, the Europe League and Cope del Rey, both twice, with Sevilla, and the Euro Championships and World Cup with Spain. That’s important for Turkish clubs, he has a reputation that’ll boost Fenerbahce’s level of popularity and please the club’s fans.

If they were able to pull a deal off, and things are very much in the early stages, then Fenerbahce would roll out the full red carpet treatment for Navas, with a heroes welcome at the airport, as if often seen for new signings in Turkey.

Pep Guardiola would be unlikely to let Navas leave in january, and Fenerbahce are therefore looking at a move next summer.
