Branislav Ivanovic is one of the right-backs who Juventus are reportedly considering signing in January. The hurry for a player for the position came after Dani Alves’ injury, which will leave the Brazilian out for around two months.

Even though Stephan Lichtsteiner can do the job, the Old Lady would still want another played for a backup. If you ask us, that seems extreme given Alves is back relatively soon, but then how would that help rumours?!

According to Calcio Mercato today, besides Chelsea’s Ivanovic, Milan’s Mattia De Sciglio and Manchester United’s Matteo Darmian are also a possibility.

The biggest reason why Juve would go after the Chelsea player is because his contract is expiring next summer, so an agreement could theoretically be easier to reach.  The 32-year-old has recently lost his spot under Antonio Conte and stayed out of the starting team in the last four Premier League fixtures.

Ivanovic is still said to be the third option in the list, but given that Juve may find difficulties to sign the other two in the middle of the season, he may see himself rise.
