Simone Zaza’s future is a big talking point in the Italian media, and many suggest a return to Italy is likely.

The 25-year-old has failed to score in 9 appearances for West Ham. The London side must pay Juventus €20m should Zaza make 14 appearances for them, as revealed by his father.

Napoli are believed to be keen on signing Zaza, but their poor relations with Juventus mean it could be complicated.

Zaza has been speaking to Rai Sport (via Calciomercato), and was asked about the interest from Napoli.

The West Ham star insists he isn’t aware of interest from other teams, but that Napoli are a ‘great’ team.

He said: “I honestly do not know the interest of other teams. Napoli are a great team , I had the chance to play for Juventus and I am proud of this, and now I think to play well here as well. West Ham is my current team and it would be a failure if I went away.”

As it stands, Zaza looks to have options available in Italy, and should he continue his failure to score, West Ham are likely minded to explore them. A surprise turnaround in his performances would change everything, but that needs to actually happen.

Zaza was an unused substitute against Stoke City, and West Ham are balancing the issue of giving him time, as well as not wanting to give too much time and it costing €20m.
