Tottenham’s interest in Napoli striker Arkadiusz Milik ‘is still alive’, and they could be presented with a chance to sign him on the cheap in January.
The Polish striker was heavily linked with a move to Spurs throughout the summer, with several reports indicating talks had been held in Italy and London.
Ultimately a move never happened, though, with Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho instead securing a loan deal for Benfica’s Carlos Vinicius.
Milik, meanwhile, has been left on the sidelines at Napoli, with the Serie A side leaving him out of their squad and him left watching games from home.
Napoli are open to a sale after suffering a ‘big loss’ on the market through their failure to sell him in the summer.
Selling before his contract expires next summer would represent a ‘small, unexpected treasure’ and Aurelio De Laurentiis would be willing to let him go for €7-8m.
They’ll need to find suitors, though and on that front Tottenham are still there, alongside ‘some Italian clubs’, who were also interested during the summer transfer window.
Whether any are interested in paying for him isn’t made clear, although it is pointed out that he’ll be available on a free next summer, so it seems like that any club, Tottenham included, would drive a hard bargain.
