Juventus are maintaining an ‘open dialogue’ with Everton over a move for Moise Kean, but the Toffees are determined to make their money back on the striker.
Kean has been linked with a return to Juventus for several weeks, having failed to establish himself on Merseyside following his move last summer.
Everton have been resistant to Juve’s efforts to bring him back, insisting that Kean is part of Ancelotti’s plans for this season.
There’s been a change in their stance over the last week or so, though, with them instead making it clear that they are open to letting Kean go so long as they can ensure they will make their €27.5m spend back somehow.
Corriere Dello Sport cover the situation today and explain what is happening and why there has been little movement thus far.
They say that Everton made a ‘survey’ for Juventus defender Merih Demiral as part of their ongoing conversations about Kean.
This was dismissed out of hand by Juve, who don’t want to let the 22-year-old go at any point, regardless of the offers for him.
They then explain what’s happening in regards to Kean, saying that the dialogue is still open between the two clubs and that the striker ‘can’t wait’ to return to Italy.
Juventus would like a ‘free loan’ with a right to buy, but Everton are insisting that they need to get the €27.5m they invested last year back.
Thus, the two are yet to agree on the formula of the deal, but there have been signs from Merseyside in the last few hours that they are ‘opening up’ to the idea of a loan.
The situation remains the same, though. Unless Juventus offer Everton the money they want in some form, the Blues have no reason to sanction a deal.
