Turkish newspaper Aksam report Trabzonspor will soon announce Caleb Ekuban has signed for Celtic.
Yesterday we covered reports from Turkey that Ekuban is on his way to Celtic after the Bhoys upped their offer to €8m. The 26 year old will reportedly fly to Scotland for a medical in the coming days.
Today Aksam also claim the deal is very close to being completed, and Trabzonspor are expected to make an announcement about the player’s transfer to the Scottish Premiership champions.
Neil Lennon will be looking to add to his attacking options this summer and the versatile attacker is now expected to arrive at Celtic Park.
The former Leeds United striker initially joined Trabzonspor on a loan deal from Leeds United in 2018, and after he impressed, the Super Lig side made his move permanent last summer by paying his €1m redemption clause.
Last season he scored 10 goals and provided 11 assists in all competitions for the Black Sea side, helping his side to win their first major silverware in ten years when they lifted the Turkish Cup.
Ekuban’s contract was set to expire at the end of June 2022.
