Having already addressed his right-wing and striker issues with the acquisitions of Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner respectively, Frank Lampard is now focusing on the left-back position at Chelsea.
Neither Marcos Alonso or Emerson Palmieri appear to have fully convinced the Stamford Bridge legend during his first season at the helm of the London club, and changes are expected.
The pair have been linked with moves away to both Spain and Italy, thus suggesting Chelsea would be open to a transfer.
This means a replacement would need to come in, and Kicker in Germany report the Blues have already found him: Robin Gosens, currently at Atalanta in Italy.
The German has impressed greatly with the exciting Serie A side, which has caught the eye of many clubs around Europe, including Chelsea.
Kicker state a fee of €30m would be enough to see him leave, and both Inter and Juventus ready to put that forward for his services.
This means Frank Lampard, who has placed Gosens ‘at the top of the list’, will need to try and overtake the two Italian clubs.
It’s no mean feat, but with the team he’s trying to build, it’s certainly doable.
