The Spanish press cannot get enough of Samir Nasri these days, and when Cadena Cope’s ‘El Partidazo’ managed to grab an interview with Sevilla’s president José Castro Carmona, they couldn’t help but ask about the Frenchman.
The Manchester City loanee has had a great start to the season for the La Liga side, and even the French media are starting to realise he might still have something left in him.
He told the Spanish radio station, relayed by Sport: “When Monchi told me we would be going after Nasri, I told him he was crazy, because his signing was unthinkable, but in the end, we reached an agreement.”
Given free reign at the La Liga club, the player has won over pretty much everyone around him, from players to managers, and has helped Sevilla become a title contender, at least so far.
The key to all of this?
Carmona explained: “Here, we give players a lot of affection. Everyone knows that here, because of the city, the team and the fans we have, it’s a perfect environment.”
Nasri would certainly have to agree.
Sevilla currently find themselves in second position in La Liga, one point behind leaders Real Madrid, after beating Atlético Madrid 1-0 at the weekend.
