Even though Marcos Rojo’s loan spell at Estudiantes expires today, his situation is far from being sorted by Manchester United.
The Argentine side are still hopeful they could keep the defender for longer, and won’t give up on negotiating with the Red Devils.
Instead of feeling sorry for the end of the loan today, newspaper El Dia writes that the talks between the two clubs should be dragged in July.
Both Estudiantes and Rojo’s staff are said to be in negotiations with Manchester United as they try to unblock the situation.
El Dia writes that Estudiantes will not use their buying option for the player, as the idea is to convince the Red Devils to extend his loan for a little longer.
Rojo landed in La Plata in January, but due to injuries and the Coronavirus break, he was only able to make one appearance for the club so far.
His contract with Manchester United expires in 2021.
