It’s been over a year since Tottenham Hotspur were linked with SC Freiburg’s Robin Koch and their interest in the defender still remains alive, if reports are to be believed.
Earlier this week, Bild reported Spurs have set their sights on the centre-back and it was suggested a deal could be concluded for less than €15m.
Sport1 has an update and their headline reads: ‘Mourinho hot for Freiburg’s Koch’.
It’s claimed the north London club’s plan to strengthen the squad for next season has seen them take a look at Bundesliga options.
Spurs need to strengthen their defence, especially with Jan Vertonghen and Juan Foyth likely to leave the club after this season. The former can leave as a free agent, while the Argentine wants a way out after losing prominence under Mourinho.
Koch has been identified as a target and he could be available for a relatively low fee because he has a year left on his contract with his current employer.
Tottenham, however, will face an uphill task to sign Koch as Sport1 add his desire is to continue in Germany.
