Inter Milan allowed Valentino Lazaro to join Newcastle United on a loan deal in January, just six months after they signed him from Hertha Berlin.

He’s played over 300 minutes for the Tyneside club across six matches in all competitions and scored one goal in the process.

As part of the deal, the Magpies retain an option to make the 24-year-old’s transfer permanent.

Earlier this month, we carried a report from TuttoMercatoWeb, who explained Steve Bruce’s side have not yet made a decision on extending the Austrian’s stay at the club.

Lazaro’s contract with Antonio Conte’s side runs down in 2023 and website Inter-News contacted the player’s representative Max Hagmayr for an update on his client’s future.

“At the moment I do not want to talk about the player’s future. If we signed a four-year contract [at Inter], we didn’t do it for no reason. But he’s now focused on finishing the season with Newcastle,” Hagmayr said.

“The Premier League is a great experience. He’s playing and he’s focused. For the future we will see, there will be time to talk about it, but only after the end of the season, as a matter of respect towards both clubs.”

Hagmayr’s comments backup claims made by TMW that Newcastle are yet to decide on whether or not to sign Lazaro on a permanent deal. As mentioned, a decision will be made after the completion of this campaign.
