On Monday morning, we covered the latest claims from Italy regarding Lazio’s chase for Watford loanee Luis Suarez.

It’s been claimed the Serie A side are prepared to offer between €15m and €18m for the striker, and have been in direct contact with his agent in the past few days.

Spanish outlet Sport is another one with a story on the player, saying his good season at Real Zaragoza makes him a very wanted option in the transfer window.

They claim that French side Lyon are one of the clubs who ‘knocked on his door’, and recall that Suarez was also linked to Barcelona back in January.

However, they say Watford would like to make ‘over €10m’ with his sale, and that makes it sound like Lazio’s offer would be more than enough to take him. Given Suarez’s season, and how the Hornets usually work on transfers, €10m doesn’t seem a high enough figure.

Suarez has scored 17 goals in La Liga 2 this season. Signed by Watford in 2017, he’s never had a chance to play for the club.
