Much like Dan-Axel Zagadou and Boubakary Soumaré before him, Tanguy Kouassi looks set to leave Paris Saint-Germain on a free.

Despite being called upon by Thomas Tuchel a lot for a 17-year-old last season (he’s just turned 18), the centre-back has yet to sign his first professional contract with the Ligue 1 champions, and many clubs are offering him a way out.

Stade Rennais are the latest to come in with a four-year contract, according to Le10 Sport, who also claim Arsenal have stepped forward.

Already set to welcome William Saliba properly this summer, the Gunners have been sniffing around more defensive talent in France of late, as both Stade de Reims’ Axel Disasi and AS Saint-Étienne’s Wesley Fofana have been linked with a move to the Emirates.

Well, if that’s what you’re looking for and Kouassi, who has excelled for his age when selected by Tuchel, becomes available, you have to give it a go.

The website detail Stade Rennais’ offer, although they point out they are a bit late on the scene as Borussia Dortmund have also made a move for him, before adding that Arsenal, Bayern Munich, Real Madrid and AS Monaco all have put forward offers to try and sign him.

Kouassi is now ‘spoiled for choice’, and it will be now up to him to weigh up the advantages and disadvantages of each one before making up his mind.

As for Arsenal, let’s hope they can be convincing.
