There are so many decisions to make during a football career that the likelihood of having regrets is always going to be there, and for Alessandro Calori there’s a feeling he should have accepted an offer to join Celtic.
The former central defender, who has also managed several teams in Italy’s lower divisions, had the opportunity to move to Glasgow, which would have been the first time he’d left Italian football.
Playing for Udinese at the time, Calori snubbed the Celtic approach, and didn’t end up playing outside of Italy at all.
Calori will no doubt be aware that had he taken the Celtic chance, and taken the risk to leave his country, his name would have been better known outside of Italy, and therefore also helped with his prospects to manage a club elsewhere.
