Real Betis have joined the growing list of suitors for Watford striker Luis Suárez this summer.
The Hornets forward is currently on loan at LaLiga 2 side Real Zaragoza and has been impressing, sitting second in the goalscoring charts with 17 goals to his name thus far.
His performances have earned him plenty of attention, particularly in Spain, with Atlético Madrid also thought to be keen on his signature.
Betis have now joined the race according to Diario de Sevilla, who explain that they are ‘combing the market’ for a striker for next season.
They currently have numerous reports on several inside and outside of Spain, and one of those is on Suárez.
The newspaper says that ‘numerous’ scouts have been watching Suárez this season and some of them have been from Betis.
However, the Spanish side know that securing his signature will not be easy.
Aside from the attention he’s receiving from bigger clubs, Watford are not keen to sell as they have plans to use him next season.
There’s also the issue of his nationality. Last year he secured Spanish citizenship which means his asking price has risen considerably as he no longer occupies a ‘foreign’ spot for Spanish sides.
