There’s disagreement on a weekly basis on whether Dani Ceballos is wanted at Arsenal beyond the end of this season, and whether the midfielder would be interested in staying.
Earlier this week he gave an interview to the Spanish media, and spoke about missing his family in Spain, which could be taken as a hint that he’d like to return.
The Spanish media believe a future at Real Madrid is unlikely as long as Zinedine Zidane is the manager. Having shown he’s not keen to play Ceballos regularly, it’s thought Zidane won’t have seen enough from the Arsenal loan to make him feel otherwise.
Valencia were interested in the January window, yet Madrid weren’t interested in strengthening a rival, so that never got off the ground.
Friday’s edition of Marca covers Valencia interest again, and reiterates that the player’s agents met the club during the winter market.
Real Betis, Ceballos’ former club, also get a mention, with Marca saying he shows ‘constant signs of affection’ towards them.
That happened again this week, when the 23 year old said he couldn’t ever sign for Sevilla, given that Betis is in his heart.
Betis, meanwhile, haven’t taken any steps on the signing but very much have Ceballos under consideration. They’re waiting for the transfer ‘moment of truth’ and can then seize any opportunity to get a deal done.
