While the transfer window is now shut in most of Europe, a couple of countries are still able to buy some players, including Switzerland.

Their transfer window shuts on February 17th, meaning a few clubs, like FC Sion, are still winter shopping, which is where Barnsley FC’s Dimitri Cavaré comes in.

According to Le10 Sport, the Swiss club have turned their attention to the Frenchman after a deal for Goztepe’s Lamine Gassama fell through due to the player’s wages.

The 25-year-old, who arrived from Rennes back in 2017, has been a bit part player for the Championship side this season, making just 11 appearances (all before December) and hasn’t featured in a match day squad since the 1-0 loss to Middlesbrough.

Le10 Sport report an agreement has now been found between all parties, and the deal should ‘quickly be finalised’.

That means Gerhard Struber rids himself of a player he no longer wants, and Cavaré gets a move to a club where he will most likely play.

Win-win.
