Two other sides ‘putting pressure’ to sign Man United player – Club still ‘believe’ they can get deal done

It appears that no matter what they try and do, Manchester United will not be able to convince Tahith Chong to stay at Old Trafford next season.

On Tuesday, we relayed news from Italy there was a belief Inter could reach an agreement over a contract with the 20-year-old, who seems intent on trying his luck elsewhere after failing to convince Ole Gunnar Solskjaer he can be a first-team asset going forward.

FC Inter News explained the two parties could meet ‘halfway’ in their demands, and that information is somewhat corroborated on Wednesday by Corriere dello Sport, who state the trail to Chong is ‘hot’.

They explain United have tried to convince the Dutchman that he is important by giving him a few minutes here and there and including him in match day squads, but it doesn’t seem to be enough.

Furthermore, on top of Inter, two other clubs are ‘putting pressure’ down their end to try and get a deal done: Barcelona and Juventus.

Despite this, Beppe Marotta and co. still ‘believe’ in getting a deal for Chong over the line, capable of seeing off the threat coming from Turin and Catalonia.

Whether these latest ‘pressures’ are just agent tricks to get Inter to move quicker remains to be seen, but it seems like Antonio Conte’s side are in the lead as things stand.
