Tottenham Hotspur player Clinton N’Jie is settling into life at Marseille rather well.
Marseille once again changed much of their team over the summer, and things are still gelling together. The weekend’s 2-1 win at home to Nantes was crucial and N’Jie scored his club’s first goal.
French newspaper L’Equipe believe N’Jie was one of the best performers on show and say that he’s proving to be a ‘nightmare’ for opposition defences. N’Jie is combining well with Bafetimbi Gomis, who also got on the scoresheet.
Marseille’s front four of N’Jie, Gomis, Florian Thauvin and Remy Cabella have all moved from the Premier League over the past couple of seasons. The French club have looked to get bargain recruits, and in N’Jie’s case the loan from Tottenham can be made permanent next summer for €7m.
If the 23 year old continues the form he showed against Nantes then that sounds like a bargain.
